Market treats - *Bespoke* Zine

I can't believe it's nearly a month since our last Olive Tree Markets! Not to mention today is the first day of Autumn... I will miss the Summer we never quite had.
On the brighter side of things The Olive Tree Markets are on again this Saturday! I've been loving these markets more each month. The market has a great community feel with a real mix of creative stall holders. The local people of Newcastle have been really supportive of Elkhorn and welcome us back each time! Nice feeling!

I treated myself to a few goodies at the last Olive Tree Markets. I'm sure you have heard me rave about the Macarons before?! Trust me they really are the best! I finally picked up a copy of *Bespoke* Zine from our neighboring stall Little Papercup plus a few cute cards which always come in handy! *Bespoke* Zine is a great little read if your into everything handmade... It's full of inspiring stories, interviews, tutorials and all things creative! This issue's cover was also beautifully illustrated by Jo of Little Papercup which was pretty sweet to then purchase it from her!

The lovely Jess of *Bespoke* Zine who I meet at the last Brissy, Finders Keepers Markets kindly featured our Feather Tote! I was pretty chuffed to see it in print!! Thanks Jess!
I'm sure to treat myself again this Saturday but it's hard not to when your tempted all day... you eventually give in!  Hope to show you a few new Elkhorn additions we'll be bringing to Saturday's Olive Tree! Yay x

Just wanted to share a few Elkhorn goodies to entice you to Saturday's Olive Tree Markets in Newcastle. Come check out our new purposeful pouches with nautical drawstring, Elkhorn mum's hand embroided pin cushions, colourful bunting and our large market totes. Plus our full range of hand screen printed table runners, cushions & tea towels!
It's going to be a long but full day of great Christmas handmade shopping from 9am, wrapping up at 6pm!  First up on my shopping list is those delicious Macarons!!! Yuo have to get in early for those. My favourite is the Lavender & honey!

Emily Rose

One of the things I love most about attending the markets is you get to meet & spend time with all sorts of wonderfully creative people. Everyone has such interesting backgrounds & live very full lives. Emily Rose is one of those!(sorry bout the rhyming) I was first taken with her knitted fox scarf and friendly smile and was intrigued as to what she created. I finally got to see her work at the recent Olive Tree Market and treated myself to one of her unique illustrated prints.

Many of Emily Rose's illustrations were inspired by a recent European trip...

and a love for doggies! How sweet are these. There's so much character and individual style in everything she creates.

Totes & Boats!

Over the last couple of days i've been working on a design for our new Elkhorn Totes! My good friend Zoe's been saying for a while now that our prints would look great on a bag... so here they are my friend! Just in time for The Olive Tree Markets tomorrow. They are an ideal size to pack up with your days goodies or fill them up at your local produce markets. I like taking mine down to the local wharf and watch the sweet boats swanning around! Elkhorn Mother will be very happy i've attached her 'Whimsy things' brooches as a finishing touch. What do you think?!
 

 

 

Magnolia Square this weekend!!!

 

We have four more days until we set up for the Magnolia Square curated market at Randwick... I am excited and nervous at the same time! It's 3 full days... starting Fri Nov 12th till Sun 14th. So these next few days are going to be crazy, finishing off table runners, dahlia tanks, cushions... ahhhh a bit of everything. I have been following the Magnolia Square Snippets - blog this past couple of weeks, each day features a designer from the upcoming market AND Wow there are some very talented people, which I can not wait to meet! We are currently featured... super exciting!!

Hopefully we will get sometime to do a little Christmas shopping.

Finders Keepers Markets May 7th-8th 2010

We are excited to announce Elkhorn will have a stall along with other creative designers/artists at the Finders Keepers Markets, Sydney!! We are madly preparing a bit of everything "Elkhorn". So if you have any thoughts on what you would like to see more of, let us know!  These markets are only on twice a year. So if you are free it's a great chance to peruse & purchase a gorgeous range of individual keep-sake items. It's similar to going to an art gallery but with an affordable price tag. It's also a perfect time to purchase something for mum as Mother's day falls on the same weekend Sunday the 9th!

Our day at Kirribilli Markets

After being busy in the studio for the last couple of weeks, it was great to get out and receive such positive responses at Kirribilli Art & Design Markets. Customers and other stall holders made it a really enjoyable day. Our Ruffle Scarves and Feather cushions were a hit! In fact we sold out of the Feather cushions! It's great to start the week with renewed enthusiasm and inspiration. Thanks!

Elkhorn @ Kirribilli Markets Sunday 11th April

We are having a stall at Kirribilli Art & Design Markets this Sunday 11th 9am - 3pm. They are located in the Burton Street Tunnel next to Milsons Point Station. They are a great market to stroll around and find something handmade & unique...like elkhorn. They are only on once a month so definitely worth checking out.
