This is happening so soon, I can't quite believe it! 

Hello Elkhorn friends, I'm not sure if your still there, after my little hiatus. I hope you have all been well and continued on without me. I am mostly settled into Melbourne now and getting back into Elkhorn work and preparation for the Melbourne Finders Keepers Markets!! In just over 3 weeks the fabulous and not to be missed FK Markets will be happening again! You can find us at Royal Exhibition Building, Friday 19 Oct 6pm-10om and Saturday 20th 10-5pm! It will be so great to see a few regular friendly faces and meet some new locals too! It's been way too long. xx

Finders Keepers - Autumn Gift Guide

Good morning! I hope your somewhere nice and cozy on this rainy morning! I've been in denial that Autumn is here and the cooler weather is upon us... especially since we were blessed with a few weeks of Indian Summer. Spending some time in Sydney this weekend I noticed all the Maple trees have started to loose their leaves, and there was a thick fog on the drive down. But it was beautiful. There's something different about exploring the streets of Sydney in Autumn.
In keeping with the theme of Autumn, Elkhorn was lucky enough to be a guest contributor to Finders Keepers Gift Guide! The above are some of my favourite autumn picks! You can view the full post here. I had so much fun selecting my picks but it was hard to pick just 6! I am absolutely loving Stampel (1) & Beth-Emily (3) and Ernest Hope (5) work at the moment!!

Yahoo! We're very excited to let you know Elkhorn will have a stall at Sydney's Finders Keepers Autumn/Winter Market Friday 1st - Saturday 2nd of June. I love the illustrated poster by Andrea Smith. Anyhoo... Thought I'd give you plenty of time to pen it in your diary which you probably already have! You'd be silly to miss it! ;) xx

Ruffle Scarves at Ivy + Bird

We parceled up a box of these Elkhorn Ruffle Scarves amongst other goodies and sent them to our wonderful new stockist Ivy + Bird in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. We meet Ivy & Bird owner Maria on our recent visit to Brissy for the Finders Keepers. It so refreshing to walk into her inspiring store and be greeted with a welcoming hello. I couldn't be happier to have our scarves sold at Ivy + Bird. What makes Ivy + Bird so unique is they hand-make a lot of their own beautiful designs in-store from cushions to clothing. What they don't have time to produce they source from local & international designers. It is a store I would definitely recommend you pop into, it takes you slightly off the beaten track, which I love!

As promised here are a couple of the Ruffle Scarves we created with the mashed flower fabric from yesterdays post. More close up photos but I wanted to show the flower prints in detail on the scarves.

I know I am still carrying on about the Finders Keepers! But if I don't show these extra photos from our stall now, I will never get around to it.

I feel like I have lost my touch(if i had one) with the camera lately. Either my hands are getting too shaky or I am just rushing the photographic process, all my photos seem to be coming our blurry and dull... But alas I am so lucky to be surrounded & meeting such supportive designers/artists, that are so open to not only sharing their photo albums but providing advise and an understanding ear.

The Finders Keepers sydney - part 2

Hello friends,
as promised here are a few more photos from the Finders Keepers weekend. I think we have nearly recovered. I still can't believe how many friends came by and supported Elkhorn, let alone the new & wonderful people we meet over the weekend.

Bespoke Press stall - these hello cards are just adorable and I will need to purchase some very soon! Alischa (Bespoke) kindly let me grab this photograph from her blog. I stocked up on her fab sticky tape but will be making more purchases at the Brisbane Finders Keepers!!

My wonderful friend Natasha helped out for the day. At one point there were about 10 people trying on different scarves. It was a relief to have her and Kelly there.

 The E is a new addition to the Elkhorn stall props. A very thoughtful gift from my friend Jelly. A few people asked if it was for sale... but no. Jelly where is it from?

Father Elkhorn should be so proud of the boxes he made. They came up great for the day and created the 'store like' feel I was after. A few commissions may be coming his way!

My purchase from the weekend came from Ginny and Jude Designs. A very sweet necklace with a semi precious stone and pearl detail. I have been searching for a crystal necklace for some time and was so happy to come by it at the FK markets.

 

Our Orange Grove patch cushion went to a very good home.

The Finders Keepers sydney - part 1

Oh boy did we have a busy weekend! If you came down to the Finders Keepers you would know exactly how crazy/wonderful it was. Friday night was a shopping, drinking, socialising frenzy! Saturday was more subdued(in a sense). It was the perfect day to start with a little foodie shopping, breaky & coffee at the produce market then a design fix, coffee, wine, live music inside. My favourite combos!
I took a few photos myself but haven't put them together yet. I am extra lucky to have these beautiful photos that Jillian Leiboff took of the Elkhorn stall on Saturday... the natural light at the Carriageworks is so beautiful. Jillian really captured the soft ethereal feel. Thanks Jillian x Part 2 tomorrow

A little collection of pics from our weekend at Melbourne Finders Keepers.  I fall in love with Melbourne a little more on each visit. The Finders Keepers was a great excuse for another visit. It was a fun fun weekend...  Thanks as always to Brooke & Sarah (FK Ladies) for making it happen. Now we have to get busy for next stop Sydney Finders Keepers (well fingers crossed we get in!)

Finders Keepers Markets May 7th-8th 2010

We are excited to announce Elkhorn will have a stall along with other creative designers/artists at the Finders Keepers Markets, Sydney!! We are madly preparing a bit of everything "Elkhorn". So if you have any thoughts on what you would like to see more of, let us know!  These markets are only on twice a year. So if you are free it's a great chance to peruse & purchase a gorgeous range of individual keep-sake items. It's similar to going to an art gallery but with an affordable price tag. It's also a perfect time to purchase something for mum as Mother's day falls on the same weekend Sunday the 9th!
