Etsy Winter Loving

It's been a while since I put together an Etsy Treasury of my favourite designs. For those who don't know what a Treasury is, it's a Etsy thing where members curate a shopping gallery with their favourite Etsy designs, bringing them together in a theme for everyone to see. It's a great way to help promote Etsy sellers. I try and do one at least every season... hence 'Winter nesting'.
This collection is prominently Australian which is so cool! So many talented EtsyAU sellers. The Aussie Etsy shops have been growing which is so great to see! Although I do still have a few fave international sellers thrown into the mix. If you see something you love then make sure you click here to take travel further into their shops! xx

Etsy, Artist & Technology event

Hello Hello!! I just wanted to let you in on an exciting event lined up for the 30th May!! At first I didn't really want to share it with anyone as I am one of the guest speakers which was freaking me out! I'm shy. But since meeting all the fabulous organisers Angela from EtsyAU, Bree from Apple, Leland from EtsyUS (Director of Product) and the other Etsy seller guest speakers I feel so much better about it. Leland who will be heading the talk was just so enthusiastic & personable very American(fun & chatty) that it has put me at ease(for now). He's made it sound less like a presentation and more of a casual conversation.

 

SO I should tell you about the event! As you can see from the title it's all about Etsy, Artists and Technology... sounds cool, right?! It's a collaboration of Vivid Festival, Apple & Etsy. Leland will be talking to us about how we use technology in our work and how Etsy has helped us grow our online presence. I hope to learn a few more tips too! So if your in town drop in and say hi, ask me some questions! I dare you ;)  The other Etsy designers talking will be Jennifer from Idoityourself and Marc from Marc Barer. All our work is quite varied so you should hear a few different stories.

Some Thursday Etsy love for you... these are just a few favorite Etsy goodies, that have caught my eye recently. With no particular theme in mind just the organic beauty of handmade designs from 'Powder Springs', Georgia to 'Milwaukee', Wisconsin, United States. Actually turns out there is a theme... America! Whenever I check in on our Etsy Online store I find myself with a few new favourites drifting from one amazing store to another... so many talented people out there doing their thing!

From The Land Down Under

Good morning, Happy belated Australia Day!! How are you recovering?
I'm actually not feeling too bad this morning, we had a few celebratory drinks on the veranda, bit of people watching... lots of Australian flags walking down the street! It was pretty chilled day hanging out with good friends and enjoying a great bbq!
The Australia theme continued this morning with Etsy's daily email 'From The Land Down Under' ! I clicked my way through discovering a fine selection of Aussie designers... Plus our Elkhorn Etsy Interview was amongst it all which made it extra exciting! I'm in love with the Vintage Map of Australia and the Frederick Glassware! you can see the full email here.

Elkhorn Collector Tanks

Phew! Finally Our 'Collector Tank Tops' photographed and up on our Etsy Online Store for your viewing/wearing pleasure! Just in time for Summer ;)

Aptly named the 'Collector Tank' from my love of gathering and beach combing every feather, shell and flower that was unlucky enough to cross my path. Thankfully I have managed to curb this habit and now follow the mantra 'take only pictures, leave only foot prints'!  Anyways.. I'm proud to say these tops are 100% Australia Made. The fabric was made and dyed in Sydney, sewn by a wonderfully skilled lady on the Central Coast and finished with a original Elkhorn design screen prints  in our studio! They were also made in a limited run making them truly unique and individual.
Well that's what I think anyway! Hope you like them x

Today literally flew away! Cliche I know... but this image feels very apt! We had a little photo shoot down at the local wharf today surrounded by Pelicans. New Elkhorn clothing and accessories from today's shoot will be live on our Etsy Store tomorrow! Promise to share them with you then. Have a lovely night x

Orange Grove Cushions - Unpatched

After making the rectangle version of Orange Grove Patch Cushions I had a few requests for the same design minus the patches... one always wants what one doesn't have! After taking the idea on board I decided to give them a whirl! So you now have options... to patch or not to patch! They have a very fresh contemporary feel... what do you think?

We have just spruced up the Elkhorn studio so it's now tidy and shining as it will ever be! I felt like I needed to get the cleaning out of my system to welcome in the new! Nothing like a early spring clean and a bit of procrasting to help things get on their way. Hence we are having a mini sale

Elkhorn Featured Seller

What a wonderful jam packed week! I have been meaning to fill you in but being such a short week, I just couldn't find the time! I am sure everyone in Australia felt the same way but it was worth it for a 5 day weekend.
SO... Elkhorn was Featured Seller on etsy this week! Did you see it? Elkhorn Mother pointed out a few grammatical mistakes in the interview, but I have come to expect that of myself (you probably have to). Without carrying on too much... I have to say I felt pretty lucky to be approached as a potential featured seller. Etsy is a US based site with hundred/thousands of sellers. You can feel like a little fish in a big pond. It is easy to get lost amongst it all. So being discovered was a truly remarkable thing and the flood of generous feedback, reassured me that Elkhorn is on the right track! So a big thank you to all that dropped by, read the interview, came by our store, shopped with Elkhorn, followed our blog & facebook page and added us to their Etsy treasuries/favourites! The response from one interview is amazing, a true testament to the work of Etsy.
