It was pretty cool to pick up the latest 'Home Beautiful' magazine to see our mustard, Feather Cushion beautifully featured in this natural collection! Great to know it's on stylist Sami Simper's wishlist! After I got over the initial excitement I managed to kick back and enjoy the rest of the mag.

Elkhorn's summery brights

This week we have taken a fresh look at our Feather cushion creating a limited addition, printed on unbleached hemp/organic cotton. The result of the washed sea blues and citron came out lovely and crisp on the light natural fabric. Perfect for the brighter season.
Perhaps you can't see the difference in the fabric but we usually use a linen/cotton(with deeper beige undertones) which is currently out of stock hence the making of these. We will have these at Markit, Sunday week in Melbourne, Federation Square!

Also printed this week is our tangerine Grove cushion! It's the first time it has been made in a square cushion size.

 I snuck in one of our new pippie scarves here made with beautiful soft organic cotton!

These feather prints are each very individual as we used a wash of colours rather then a straight colour print. The citron and sea blue have been mixed with a natural clay colour. What do you think? You can see our linen feather here to compare. We do still have some linen feather cushion covers in stock and will keep this line as the linen tones lends itself to natural texture & tone lounges.

Feathery Table Runners

Hello friends! I hope you have had an enjoyable week and the sun was shining for you.
You may have noticed our range of Elkhorn Table Runners has been growing. I listed a few on our Etsy Store & Bluecaravan over the last week but failed to share them here until now. We've kept the design simple & subtle with individual hand screen printed floaty feathers. Feature colours of citron, tangerine & sea blue have been mixed with a natural clay colour to give the feathers a soft water colour finish. Making each runner very unique! Please scroll on down... Most likely you will have seen the above two Orange Grove Runners before. I recently re photographed them and couldn't help adding them to the mix. And just in case your wondering the beautiful ceramic bowls & servers are from Attia. I purchased them from the last Brissy Finders keepers for myself and thought their organic forms would sit nicely with our table runners. I will have to build on this collection as I love their creations & feel good ethos and need more room for cheese! x

Custom patches

I have been a little obsessed with patches lately. It's quite a satisfying way to sew, as the work slowly reveals itself and the end result is always an rewarding surprise.  These Elkhorn cushions are a recent custom project, we created for a Marea who discovered us at The Finders Keepers Markets.

Marea originally saw the yellow patch cushions(below) and was taken by the earthy colour scheme and deep red feature dahlia's. After discussing her space we decided to change the backing fabric to a unbleached hemp/organic cotton while still keeping with the same screen printed colours.

Although we used the same colour palette design, I Iove that a subtle change of fabric can bring quite a different feel to the cushions. Thanks Marea for trusting us to create something individual for you.

Cape Happenstance

It seems only fitting in our first post to show an image of 'Cape Happenstance', as it has been so popular. It is made with 100% Cotton knit, with stitch details across the back and a natural cord gathering the fabric around the shoulders. It's a versatile cape, worn long & loose or gathered & cropped. We have a few left in this mustard colour but it can be made in almost any colour your heart desires! Oh and they are only $60
